CENTRE FLOURISHES AT FIRST ATTEMPT ...

Blooming marvellous! That was the message of the management at Crystal Peaks when judges voted them with a ‘Silver Rose Certificate’ in the recent “Yorkshire In Bloom Awards”.

The prestigious presentation ceremony for Category 8C – Shopping Centres and Retail Parks was held at Sheffield Town Hall in The Lord Mayors Parlour and the record of achievement was presented to the Centre by non other than the Lord Mayor himself; Cllr. Arthur Dunworth.
The Centre’s first time entry succeeded in impressing the 2 Harrogate based judges by the quality of presentation, especially with its entrance floral displays, hanging baskets and tubs, plus the well maintained grassed areas. They also commented on the cleanliness and tidiness of the overall area and the management of the permanent landscaping.
Kim Jones from the Centre Management Team, commented, “We’re simply delighted. This is  teamwork at it's best and I would like to congratulate all our partners on this outstanding award. We are over the moon to win Silver at our very first attempt especially after all of the redevelopment works that have been ongoing for the last three years. Special mention to Melvyn Riley and Nick Fellgett of Street Force who tirelessly worked with us throughout the entry process giving us all the help and advice and perhaps most importantly the encouragement to enter. Also, Countrywide Landscaping, our very own in-house Maintenance Team and Mitie Cleaning for all their hard work – we couldn’t have done it them all ! Congratulations, and next year we’ll be going for gold!”
John Charlton, Director of Street Force said, “Everyone involved in the competition should be very proud. The awards are a truly fitting tribute to the heroic efforts that everyone has made in getting our City back on its’ feet following the devastating floods. Our local village, town, business and community entrants have achieved fantastic results with 8 Silver Gilt, 8 Silver and 2 Bronze Awards – so much so we (Sheffield) have been asked to represent Yorkshire & Humberside in the Britain In Bloom competition 2008. So please pass on my thanks to all of your colleagues who have helped.”
