SIMPLE BOARD DECISION WHEN PETE MET HARRY…

Both were feeling clad all over! That’s the comments of 2 community spirited gentlemen when the well used and popular Limes Community Centre (formerly 1950’s Beighton and Hackenthorpe Old Peoples Centre) situated on Lime Street, Beighton needed an interior face-lift – because the panel of carers knew who to call to get some financial resources  Crystal Peaks

The Sheffield Shopping Centre contributed to the makeover of the Main Hall with versatile Pacific Blue panelling with complimenting diamond white PVC skirting and architrave. “The idea came from a couple of ladies from Scotland I met whilst on holiday!” Said Pete Scott, Trustee & Secretary of ‘The Limes’, “We were chatting over a cup of tea and questions were asked such as, what do you now that you’ve retired? which led to discussions about our involvement with the community … and they told me about a building in Cummings Park, Aberdeen which had recently been refurbished in “wet wall” cladding with plastic skirting and architrave to finish it off and add longevity to the project. The idea was to save money over the coming years in decorator’s fees and heating bills because of its thermo dynamic qualities of low conduction and convection. It is also fire resistant and comes with a ten year guarantee ” He added, “I thought that’s exactly what we need! So, I contracted Harry Welch who’s a well-known village character, a highly capable individual and just a terrific all round craftsman with a good brain on him!  He’s done us proud - an accomplished job making a real change for the better to The Limes. Harry can brick lay, plaster and plumb and I can forgive him coming from Treeton because he married a Beighton lass!  You could say we’ve got the job completely covered for at least a decade thanks to our friends up the road! Cheers Crystal Peaks.”
