MAJOR BOOST FOR 175 YEAR OLD RETAIL STAFF CHARITY
The retail sector has always been a major employer in the UK, but never more so than today. However, most current and many former retail staff are probably unaware of Retail Trust, a charity established 175 years ago to help everyone in the retail industry
Chris Jones, Centre Manager of Sheffields’ Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre said, “Retail Trust is an important charity, which provides support and assistance to all retail staff and their families in our community. We are trying to raise awareness of it throughout our popular community Centre, as although the charity is now 175 years old there are many staff, particularly newer staff who could access the help of Retail Trust but just don’t know about it”.
To celebrate the 175th birthday of Retail Trust, Cushman & Wakefield, managing agents of Crystal Peaks and dozens of other shopping centres across the country, have been encouraging their staff to take part in Retail Trust Week to learn about the charity, whilst raising vital funds. “While raising funds to expand services is important, Retail Trust Week is about more than this. It is all about awareness for the charity. There are so many people out there who could access our services but don't know about us,” said Chief Executive Nigel JL Rothband “We hope Retail Trust Week will result in even more people coming to us for support”.
