A FIRST FOR GREGGS & CRYSTAL PEAKS…
The UK’s leading bakery retailer, Greggs plc has just opened the countries first ever ‘café style’ trail store right here in Sheffield! It’s located at Crystal Peaks and Lianne Pritchard, 27, from Whittington near Chesterfield has the honour of becoming the premier stores’ brand new Manager. At 1,600 sq. feet and situated in Unit 41 of the Sheffield Shopping Centre the store will also have a compliment of 20 staff (split in half with both full and part time team members). Commented Lianne, “From school I went to study English at Sheffield Hallam University a subject I still love - especially poetry. But ask any poor student and they’ll tell you it’s all down to finances and I was sick of being always broke, so I became a part time Saturday Girl at Greggs. I enjoyed working for the company so much that I went full time progressing in 2002 to Assistant Manger at Hillsborough. My first ‘proper’ management job was at Broomhill a year later and then on to an incredibly busy City Centre store on Pinstone Street – simply brilliant in Summer especially with the kids enjoying the Peace Garden fountains! From there, I don’t think there is one store in Sheffield and the surrounding area I haven’t worked in - and with over 1200 shops nationwide there are lots of development opportunities. The new Crystal Peaks is such a first I’d have been daft to miss it. It’s natural progression.” She added, “Greggs must love me as much as I love them, as I haven’t been anywhere else. Totally loyal! The company, which has a nickname ‘the Greggs family’ has such a ‘people orientated’ philosophy that if you cut me through and through I’m sure you’ll see I’m blue, white and orange – with the odd cheese and onion pasty thrown in! So here’s looking forward to welcoming you too, to our high standards of food safety, unbeatable value and great tasting food.”
