THE STRONG ARM OF THE FORCE ARRIVES AT CRYSTAL PEAKS...Creator George Lucas’s world of magic and myth of the force was with 8 year old Adam Tunnard this week when Crystal Peaks went interplanetary to bring true to life characters from all 6 “Star Wars” movie sagas together in one location, utilising film set props, models and state-of-the-art costumes for the reenactments. Adam from Birley Moor Road was amongst hundreds and hundreds of fans who gathered to the Sheffield Shopping Centre to get up close and personal with personalities from all the legendary films, such as Imperial Stormtroopers, X Wing Pilots, Members of the Imperial Guard, Sandtroopers, Darth Sidious and of course the scourge of the Jedi - Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith.  Darth Vader and Imperial Stormtrooper Commented Chris Jones, Centre Manager, "Reaction has ranged from sheer delight to abject terror when you first spy the true master of the dark side - one of the Emperor's most trusted servants and ultimate enforcer of evil, right here on our doorstep. Thankfully for our visitors he wasn't always a fearsome person! He began life as Anakin Skywalker, a young slave from Tatooine and I think he went back to his roots a little over the last few days by being exceptionally kind and posing for photographs before being whisked back to view the forest moon over Endor!” A notable volunteer group called Hyde Fundraisers provided all the ‘Star Wars’ characters. Secretary and Organiser, Wayne Broughton said, “We do it all for BBC Television’s ‘Children in Need’ which this year is on Friday 17th November and one other charity, the ‘Calibre Library for the Blind’. After the hugely successful ‘Doctor Who’ appearance earlier this year, we teamed up with the “Knights Of The Empire – KOTE”, to invade Crystal Peaks once again with a different theme, Star Wars. We were only too pleased and delighted to implement the chivalry, nobility, evil and valor of this cultural phenomenon, which has endured and grown over the past 25 years.
