CRYSTAL PEAKS IN SAFE HANDS…

Crystal Peaks are today pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Foulkes, Tech. IOSH as their new Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Officer.

Paul from Dronfield previously worked for ALcontrol Laboratories - a large environmental analysis organisation - based at their head office in Rotherham, performing a similar function, and is committed to the promotion of sensible health, safety and environmental policy within the award-winning Sheffield Shopping Centre.

Speaking about his new role, married Paul, 53, said: “I am delighted to be given the chance to lead and implement new procedures of HS&E at Crystal Peaks. I regard this work as being a totally integrated management risk system and an all-important component to the future success of the Centre. For example, as environmental issues are high on everyone’s agenda these days, it’s only fitting we pursue ISO 14001 status this year – to increase our efficiency in the use of energy and create less waste with in and outbound raw materials. I know the task be very demanding, but this accreditation is highly valued, especially for a Centre that constantly cares about its’ tenants, contractors, the local community and the environmental impact we have on our surroundings.”

He added, “Also, improvements can always be made to ensure staff and our valued customers are safe at all times. I’ll strive to put in place actions to minimize, reduce or prevent totally that risk. It’s going to be a real challenge and I am really looking forward to working with the existing team of highly motivated, supportive and enthusiastic colleagues to continue to deliver improvements in health & safety for the benefit of all.”

Commented Centre Manager, Chris Jones, “I am delighted with this appointment. Paul will be focusing his effort where it is most needed and fully understands the contribution that good, sensible regulation can make to a community Shopping Centre like ours. He brings a wealth of valuable experience in managing multidisciplinary projects so I am confident that he will be able to build on his many successes and help HS&E become even better at protecting people and the environment at Crystal Peaks. I very much look forward to working with him.”
