CELEBRITY CHEF COOKS UP A STORM AT LIVSSTIL“Please sir, can I have some more?” were the cries of on-lookers to Crystal Peaks recently as well-portioned food samples and tender tasting delicacies were freely handed out! The spicy aromas wafted along the East Mall, colourful sights of glorious organic fresh food bought from the Centre’s Sainsburys’ store based in the Lower Mall - and the noisy sound of high quality kitchenware clanking metal on metal with superior utensils, woks and pans, said it all, as celebrity chef from televisions’ Q.V.C. channel, Malcolm Harradine teamed up with superior cookware store Livsstil (Danish for lifestyle) to give shoppers a very special free treat – an all day cookery demonstration. For nearly 8 hours until close of play, non-stop Malcolm wowed all generations of food lovers with his refreshing no-nonsense approach to cooking, whilst also revealing the special secrets to some of his favourite recipes. He also gave away free-signed copies of his unrivalled recipe booklet containing some stirring chapters (!) all on view within Livsstil’s font window – that’s the brand new cook and lifestyle shop that opened recently at the Sheffield Shopping Centre. It’s been described as ‘probably the world’s greatest cook shop’ by Owner Barry Short, 57, from Hackenthorpe, who went on to declare – “I would say that wouldn’t I? But I do believe it to be true and certainly no understatement – just call in to see why and what all the fuss is about!” He added, “I’m thrilled and delighted that Malcolm came. Not only is Malcolm a very amiable, passionate and knowledgeable gentleman in the kitchen but also viewed by his peers as a highly respected chef. His skill, expertise and guidance in front of a live audience has been invaluable to all our patrons watching. His free culinary tips have been a delight to see and the smells … well …. just ummmm. Mouth wateringly good. But the emphasis wasn’t just for the gourmet but a showcase for the amateur alike – a form of cuisine inclusion – to engage and enthuse everyone in cooking methodology, whatever the budget. As a great advocate of fresh produce and a lover of good ingredients it’s been a huge treat for everyone involved and proof, if needed, that scrumptious food need not be expensive, it’s a display we’ll definitely want to repeat again and again, so see you next time to try something new!” For further information, please call: t: 01302 759696 m: 07973 676942 |
