AND THE WINNER IS… CRYSTAL PEAKS !It was the hottest ticket in town! That was the Sheffield Business Awards ceremony 2005 held at Ponds Forge recently, which crowned Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre the most socially aware and highly responsible business worthy of this years "Community Impact Award" and on full view to the city's high fliers in their business world. For the first time ever in the event's history over a thousand of Sheffield's leading business figures attended the sell out glittering ceremony. This year, the 2005 awards received a record number of entries with 50 companies shorted listed for the 14 awards. The 'Community Impact' category, sponsored by 'Business in the Community', had 28 entries with an impressive and prestigious short list of just 4; Cadbury Trebor Bassett, Highlander Business Solutions, Gripple Ltd and winners, Crystal Peaks. Crystal Peaks were celebrated as a model of best csr (corporate social responsibility) practice in Sheffield for 2005 and as an outstanding business case.
"What a night!" said Service Development Manager Vernon Tolson. "Every year this event gets bigger and better and this years has been no exception. All of the winners were deserving and rightly recognised, highlighted and congratulated for their commitment to the city and the effect and impact they all have had in driving the success of Sheffield business forward." "What a fantastic end to a multi-award winning year!" Exclaimed Chris Jones, Centre Manager, "I know everyone at Crystal Peaks will be delighted with such an accolade from the Sheffield Business awards. Only a few months ago were we being presented the UK's first ever Shopping Centre's "CommunityMark Award" by HRH Prince Charles Ambassador for Yorkshire & Humber, Richard Gregory - now once again Richard, Chairman of Yorkshire Bank, is presenting us with a Community Impact Award - a fitting tribute for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes from every member of staff at our caring community Shopping Centre." Judge, Guy Gibson, Senior Community Regeneration Area Manager, Yorkshire Forward said, "Crystal Peaks have demonstrated their commitment and enthusiasm to community activities over a number of years and have steadily developed a wide ranging, comprehensive and diverse programme, based on true partnership working involving a range of key agencies, organisations and most importantly the community as a whole. Their programme covers all age groups, targets individual good causes right through to supporting larger groups and local charities. It is sufficiently diverse to address such issues as education, transport, health and community safety and it specifically focuses on the needy and disadvantaged amongst the community. Crystal Peaks are creative both in maximising publicity both for their business and clients through their community programme as well as in the use of their premises and the innovative and variety of methods used to deliver the programme." He added, "Not only is their community programme embedded within the culture and ethos of their own company but they also mentor, partner and encourage other organisations to become engaged in community activities. They have also developed a long-term strategy to ensure that their great work within this area will continue to be delivered well into the future. They are to be congratulated in developing such a wide-ranging programme, which has real benefits to their company and business, as well as delivering significant benefit and impact to the community as a whole. I was just delighted to announce the winners were Crystal Peaks. Very, very well done." -ends- for further information, please call: t: 01302 759696 m: 07973 676942 |
