MEET PEACOCKS NEW MANAGER...

Fashion conscious Andy Durban, 40, is the latest manager to proudly strut his stuff at the UK's leading value-for-money retailer, Peacocks, in Crystal Peaks - which opened its doors recently in the Shopping Centre's brand new East Mall extension.

Married Andy, from Swinton near Mexborough, just loves clothing, footwear and homeware and has been in retail since leaving school at 16.

He was born in Bromley, South London and joined Peacocks in 1999 at their Pontefract store before moving to Rotherham's Parkgate outlet a year later delivering a training and development programme to aid constant and continuous improvement amongst their hard-working and dedicated store colleagues in excellent customer service.

"I know it's a little cheesy, but I just love meeting people and because I'm naturally chatty, well that got me into a whole heap of trouble. For the rest of my life in fact! I was watching the fantastic David Platt going for his last-minute volley against Belgium in the Italia 90 World Cup and got carried away, stood on a ladies foot ... so not only did those seconds change the Manchester United players life forever, it did mine too! Her name was Jackie and now she's my wife and we've 3 fantastic children. Good job I'm in clothing and footwear to meet the needs of all members of the family and it's good that Peacocks have great ideas at great value, every time!"

He added, " I love the challenging experience of running my own store. I’ve visited lots of branches in my time and met lots of friendly staff along the way and I’m really looking forward to Crystal Peaks - I've heard great things about its' community spirit and the people are so welcoming."
