CRYSTAL PEAKS SHONE WITH 'FAME SHOWCASE'!
Last week at Sheffield's award-winning Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre, it truly was 'Stars In Your Eyes' when a host of local celebrities performed right in front of hundreds of shoppers and on-lookers to display their immense talents.
The super stars of tomorrow came out to sparkle, performing their very own 'on-your-doorstep' "Fame Showcase" and created an all singing, all dancing revue, complete with acoustic music, electric band live sets, theatrical drama and performing arts, complimentary to the days' eclectic mix. Featured was international recording artist Zenon, local boy bands M101 and MCS, pianists Tim Adshead and 15 year-old Adam Clarke who both astounded with their solo renditions on a baby grand piano. Michelle Farrar's highly popular 'Steppin Out' Dance Studio girls also demonstrated their newly taught and highly skilled dance routines.
Said Kate Day, Head of Music at Meadows Community School, "We're top of the list for the next one! It was just wonderful to stage this vast array of talent, which displayed lots of the local community kid's abilities on their very own turf! It proves there's a lot going in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire to be proud of! I thought it was a terrific promotional opportunity - our band is still talking it up -even now! They thought it was just a great gig - really, really cool. On a practical note, I think it helped in lots of other ways like confidence building, comradeship and stagecraft - which is becoming more and more important for a successful career in entertainment. I wonder who'll fall under the spell of all that hard work and excitement in pursuit of the ultimate dream ……… fame? As a teacher I always remember the Sam Goldwyn quote.... give me a couple of years, and I'll make that individual an overnight success ... here's to many of them!" for further information, please call: t: 01302 759696 m: 07973 676942 |
