TRIFFIC TIME HAD BY ALL !

It was a ‘lubberly jubberly’ day last Friday (15th April) when top Derek 'Edward' Trotter impersonator Maurice Canham from Banbury, Oxfordshire, said ‘au revoir’ (Del Boy’s French for ‘hello’) to shoppers, visitors and fan’s of BBC TV’s hilarious comedy classic series ‘Only Fool’s and Horses’ at Sheffield’s Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre - to help promote Sheffield Markets 'temporary-move' to the West Mall (due to continuing redevelopment works).

The David Jason character double, Maurice was voted top male look alike in 2000 and came out top as 2001's U.K. look alike. He’s also made guest appearances for corporate functions like Dell Computers, Tesco and Madame Tussauds along with t.v. shows ‘Richard & Judy’, “Family Fortunes” and ‘The Look-alike Agency’.

Maurice brought with him the original ‘Trotters Independent Trader’ Reliant Regal Super Van - direct from the set of all 62 episodes of the popular television show.

“Phooorh, menage-a-trois! I’ve had a completely 42 carat day and met some real diamond geezers!” Exclaimed ‘in-character’ Maurice, “ The local folks were just fab, although I really do think one or two of ’em thought I was ’im - their peepers must be a bit dodgy. We’ve had a great turn out - it’s been totally clear cut - or as Del would say ‘oeuf sur la plat’, the series and characters have demonstrated they are still as popular today in South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire as they always have been. Recently OF&H came in at number 10 in a list of cult television shows. It still inspires conventions of fans who meet in pubs called the Nag's Head and they too wander round dressed as their favourite characters - so thank goodness I’m not on my own! I’ve had a completely cushty time at Crystal Peaks - it’s been a real pukka experience. Mange tout - mange tout!”
