BEIGHTON IS SET TO BECOME A LITTLE GREENER !

Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre and Beighton Environment Group. 4 new litter bins have been bought and sponsored by the Centre after an approach from the local group who are passionate about their pleasant village becoming a tidier, litter free place to live.

"They are all placed in strategic locations for maximum usage where litter is an issue to residents around the village." Explained Amanda Jones from Sothall Green. "There is one on Grange Road, one on West Street another placed near where I live in Sothall Green and finally a bin at Sevenaires Road. We would urge everyone to use these new bins and help improve Beighton's environment for all our residents however young or old. They will be of great benefit to everyone who lives, works or visits Beighton, showing we really do care about our surroundings. We want to help educate everyone to take pride in their environment and help make Sothall and Beighton a better place to live.

We must all play our part in keeping the place clean by putting our litter in the bins provided." Centre Manager Chris Jones said, "We are delighted to support the Beighton Environment Group. This is an opportunity for local people to make a lasting difference to their own community. It is also a proactive approach in tackling the problems of litter in Beighton and a great way to focus in on further green initiatives within our townships. Nowadays caring eco-schools like Brookhouse Junior, Beighton Infants and Reignhead Primary along with their youngsters are learning to take care of the environment through education and a positive socially responsible attitude - so it's only natural their peers should do so too. It will create a safe and clean environment for all of us to enjoy. I'm confident the new bins will be a great success and we're only too pleased to help."
