PEAKS & TROUGHS FOR THE BECKHAMS...Crystal Peaks fielded a full "screen" of 11 players to welcome a celebrity couple who have the 'occasional argument' - England Captain David, and former Spice Girl Victoria, a.k.a. "The Beckhams". They both visited the Sheffield Shopping Centre recently for a live date which was also being shot for an ITV2 show called "Unusual Couples" due to be televised in the Autumn ... Well almost … in fact they are the worlds leading celebrity Beckham look-alikes, Matthew & Nerys Middleton from Clwyd and were right on goal to meet, greet and have photographs taken with shoppers to fool their unsuspecting friends or relatives.
The real-life married couple are personally known to the 'actual' David & Victoria as they have been doubling for them all around the globe - taking them to such places as Hong Kong, Japan, Madrid, Vienna and Istanbul. The lookalikes have also featured and been interviewed on many major television programmes including ITV’S 'This Morning', GMTV, BBC2's 'Horizon', SKY TV, ITV’S 'On The Ball', Germanys ZDF & Hong Kong’s Cable TV channel throughout "Euro 2004". Commented Centre Manager Chris Jones, "It was a genuine case of 'it can't be, can it?' 'is it? or isn't it? It is you know! .... No, it isn't!' Because without doubt Matthew & Nerys really do look like Posh & Becks. They have even collected awards on behalf of the famous duo, and Matt told us he was once asked to model clothes designed by David himself, which can't be bad – which is quite an endorsement.
